Tests!

I have been working on tests lately. I'm actually fairly rusty with animation (especially hand drawn) after this summer so...you know... not everything is looking its best, but it's a start! and it's getting the ball rollin'; re-kindling the love affair.

I don't know what this ^ pagebreak thing is so just ignore it.... This was a test on White paper instead of the greenscreen. As you can see, I had a hard time with the composit, because the original paper had shadows and was a tad wrinkley.

This is just a test I did with letter blocks I cut out. I wanted to see if I could get the white to dissapear using an After effects mode ( I couldn't btw). This was done using a greenscreen and turned out better, but I need to figure out a different lighting set up within the room I'm using, because it's not casting a bright enough quality of light.

This was a basic test in replacement animation, which I had never done before. The first snippet is trying to make it grow out of the center using only my eye and intuition for the placement... as you can see it's pretty sloppy. The second is growing from the bottom, so I could somewhat follow a line, It's better. Generally I still need practice to gain my muscle memory.

This is another attempt at a runcycle. This one is much much better so far, still with some kinks, but did you see my first one? haha
For some reason I often forget about using references, and they are just so valuable and make life so much easier. It can be pretty hard to imagine all of this in your head. So I have been trying to research more instead of just diving in and getting frustrated right away.

Bye for now

p.s.

A quick concept thing, combining the run with the letters. Not at all how it will look in the end, just was foolin around
